Judith Supports Donate Life Week With A Poem

As part of Donate Life Week, Judith featured in a free music and community event in Carlton on Sunday March 3.

During the afternoon, marking Australia’s national awareness week to promote organ and tissue donation, Judith read her poem ‘Perfect Match’ dedicated to her friend Mandawuy Yunupingu (lead singer of Yothu Yindi and a fellow Australian of the Year) who is waiting for a kidney transplant.

Judith appeared on stage and her poem was accompanied by a beautiful guitar piece by Dave Arden.

The Transplants (including Paulie Stewart, of Painters & Dockers and Dili Allstars), African rappers Flybz and Paulie Greene, an Elvis impersonator, also performed during the afternoon, and Bollywood dancers and African drummers entertained the crowd.

If you could save a life one day, would you?

As an organ and tissue donor, you could transform the lives of ten or more people.  Now is the time to make your wish count. Let your loved ones know your donation decision. They need to know, because they will be asked to confirm your wishes.
